Water-based products first, on damp skin; oils last. Introduce one product at a time so anything that disagrees with you is easy to spot.

02First cleanse

Jojoba & Castor Pre-Cleansing Oil

First cleanse · rinse-off oil · evening

The first step of a two-step evening cleanse. Oil dissolves oil, so this lifts sunscreen, make-up and the day’s sebum in a way water alone cannot, then turns milky and rinses clean.

100 ml pump

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Jojoba oil Light, non-greasy; dissolves oil-based residue
  • Sunflower or sweet almond oil Well-tolerated carrier oil rich in linoleic acid
  • Castor oil Gives cleansing slip and lift
  • Polysorbate 80 or Olivem 300 Lets the oil turn to a milk and rinse off
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Frankincense oil Scent

Why it works

  • Removes everything — sunscreen and long-wear make-up come off without scrubbing.
  • Doesn’t strip — the skin feels soft afterwards, not squeaky.
  • Gentle exfoliation — with a muslin cloth or konjac sponge, dead cells lift too.
  • No preservative needed — there is no water in it, so nothing can grow.

How to use

  1. Dry hands, dry face. Pump two or three doses into dry palms.
  2. Massage. Work over the face and neck for about a minute, including over the eyes if you wear mascara.
  3. Add water. Wet your hands and massage again; the oil turns white and milky.
  4. Rinse or wipe. Rinse well, or lift off with a warm damp muslin cloth. Follow with the cleansing gel.

Good for

  • Every skin type, including oily and acne-prone
  • Anyone who wears SPF or make-up daily
  • Dry winter skin that hates foaming cleansers

Take care

  • Keep water out of the bottle — use the pump
  • Sweet almond version: avoid with a tree-nut allergy
  • If it stings the eyes, keep it to the lids and lashes only

Pairs with: Cleansing gel (04) as the second cleanse; a muslin cloth or konjac sponge for gentle exfoliation.

Storage: A cool cupboard, away from the bath. Keeps a year. If it smells waxy or like old crayons, the oils have turned.

04Second cleanse

Gentle Aloe Cleansing Gel

Second cleanse · water-based · morning and evening

A low-foam gel that lifts what the oil leaves behind, or stands alone in the morning. Sugar-derived cleansers do the work; aloe and glycerin keep the skin soft.

150 ml pump
£12

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Aloe vera juice Hydrating base
  • Vegetable glycerin Draws water into the skin
  • Coco glucoside Mild cleanser made from coconut and sugar
  • Cocamidopropyl betaine Softens the lather
  • Xanthan gum Gives the gel its body
  • Citric acid Adjusts the pH to match skin
  • Chamomile and lavender oils Scent; both calming
  • Preservative (Geogard ECT) Keeps a water-based product safe

Why it works

  • pH-balanced — made to sit at 5–5.5, the same as healthy skin, so it doesn’t leave a tight feeling.
  • Low foam — gentle cleansers foam less; that is a feature, not a fault.
  • Sulphate-free — no sodium lauryl sulphate or similar.
  • Light and quick — rinses clean in seconds.

How to use

  1. Damp skin. Splash the face with warm water.
  2. One pump. Massage over face and neck for thirty seconds.
  3. Rinse. With warm, then cool water. Pat dry.
  4. Follow with. Toner (05), serum (06) and cream (01).

Good for

  • All skin types
  • Morning cleanse on its own
  • Sensitive skin that dislikes foaming washes

Take care

  • Avoid the eyes; rinse well if it gets in
  • Shake gently if it separates slightly
  • Stop if it stings or leaves the skin red

Pairs with: Pre-cleansing oil (02) before it in the evening; toner (05) straight after.

Storage: Bathroom shelf is fine; away from direct sun. Use within three months. A thinner texture or off smell means it is past its best.

05Toner & mist

Rose & Chamomile Toner

Toner and mist · hydrosol · morning and evening

A soft, calming water for after cleansing. Hydrosols are the waters left over when flowers are steam-distilled: gentle, faintly scented and free of alcohol.

100 ml spray
£12

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Rose hydrosol Toning; softly fragrant
  • Chamomile hydrosol Calming for reactive skin
  • Aloe vera juice Light hydration
  • Vegetable glycerin Holds water on the skin
  • Preservative (Geogard ECT) Hydrosols are not self-preserving

Why it works

  • Rebalances — restores comfort after cleansing, especially with hard water.
  • Preps the skin — serum and cream spread further and sink in faster on damp skin.
  • Alcohol-free — no drying witch hazel or alcohol.
  • Cooling — keep it in the fridge in summer.

How to use

  1. Close your eyes. Mist two or three times over the face from about 20 cm.
  2. Don’t dry it. Leave the skin damp.
  3. Straight to serum. Apply the serum (06) or cream (01) while the skin is still wet.
  4. Through the day. Use as a refreshing mist over make-up; it won’t disturb it.

Good for

  • All skin types
  • Red, hot or reactive skin
  • Dry offices and flights

Take care

  • Rose can occasionally irritate very sensitive skin — patch-test
  • Cloudiness or a sour smell means it has turned
  • Not a substitute for the serum or cream

Pairs with: Any cleanser before; serum (06) or cream (01) while the skin is still damp.

Storage: The fridge keeps it fresh and cool. Otherwise a cool, dark shelf. Use within three months.

06Evens tone

Brightening Serum

Leave-on serum · water-based gel · morning and evening

The product that does the tone-evening work. Three well-studied ingredients act on different parts of the pigment process; because it stays on the skin all day and all night, it has time to work.

30 ml airless pump
£20

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Aloe vera juice and water Base
  • Niacinamide (vitamin B3) Slows the transfer of pigment to skin cells; strengthens the barrier
  • Alpha-arbutin Slows pigment production; gentle, from bearberry
  • Licorice root extract Soothing; complements the arbutin
  • Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) Calming and hydrating
  • Vegetable glycerin Humectant
  • Xanthan gum Light gel texture
  • Preservative (Geogard ECT) Essential in a water-based product

Why it works

  • Fades marks — post-blemish marks, sun spots and patchy tone soften over eight to twelve weeks.
  • Fragrance-free — no essential oils, so nothing to irritate skin that is already sensitised.
  • Barrier-friendly — niacinamide improves how skin holds water.
  • Realistic — it evens tone; it does not change overall skin colour.

How to use

  1. After toner. On damp skin, one pump for the whole face and neck.
  2. Pat in. Press over the face; concentrate on any patchy areas.
  3. Then cream. Apply the cream (01) once it has sunk in, about a minute.
  4. Mornings: SPF. Non-negotiable. Sun undoes days of serum in an hour.

Good for

  • Uneven tone, dark marks and dullness
  • Sensitive skin that can’t use acids
  • Under make-up

Take care

  • Results take two to three months of daily use
  • Avoid the eye area
  • If it discolours to brown, discard it — the arbutin has oxidised
  • Pregnancy: check with your midwife before using arbutin

Pairs with: Toner (05) before, cream (01) after, SPF every morning. Enzyme mask (16) once a week boosts absorption.

Storage: Fridge is best; otherwise a cool, dark shelf. Keep the bottle closed and use within three months.

17Eye area

Caffeine & Niacinamide Eye Cream

Eye cream · light emulsion · fragrance-free

A light, unscented cream for the delicate skin under the eyes. Caffeine and green tea work on puffiness and the bluish kind of darkness; niacinamide on the brownish, pigmented kind. Honest about what a cream can do: it helps, it doesn’t erase.

15 ml airless pump
£16

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Aloe vera juice and water Base
  • Caffeine Constricts the tiny vessels that show through thin skin; reduces puffiness
  • Niacinamide (vitamin B3) Evens pigment; thickens the barrier over time
  • Green tea extract Antioxidant; supports the caffeine
  • Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5) Calming and hydrating
  • Squalane Very light oil that stays put
  • Jojoba oil and shea butter Softness without heaviness
  • Olivem 1000 A gentle olive-derived emulsifier
  • Vegetable glycerin Humectant
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Preservative (Geogard ECT) Essential in a water-based product

Why it works

  • Less puffy — most people notice this first, within a couple of weeks.
  • Brighter — vascular darkness softens as vessels constrict and the skin thickens.
  • No fragrance, no essential oils — nothing to sting or water the eyes.
  • Light — sinks in and sits well under concealer.

How to use

  1. A rice grain per eye. Squeeze onto the ring finger, the weakest one.
  2. Pat along the bone. Under the eye, from the inner corner outward. Not on the lid, not rubbed.
  3. Then cream and SPF. Let it sink in, then apply the cream (01) around it and SPF over the top in the morning.
  4. Keep it cold. Store in the fridge; a cold cream does more for puffiness.

Good for

  • Puffy mornings
  • Bluish or brownish under-eye darkness
  • Fine lines from dryness
  • Under make-up

Take care

  • Patch-test behind the ear first — the eye area is the most reactive skin
  • Keep out of the eye; rinse with water if it gets in
  • Shadow from a hollow under the eye won’t change with any cream
  • Darkness takes two to three months to respond, if it does

Pairs with: Serum (06) on the rest of the face; cream (01) around it; SPF over everything in the morning. Toner (05) mist first.

Storage: Fridge is best. Keep the pump closed and use within three months.

01Everyday moisturiser

Aloe, Jojoba & Rosehip Restorative Cream

Face and body cream · leave-on · morning or evening

A rich, everyday moisturiser. Half of it is aloe vera, which hydrates; the rest is jojoba and rosehip, which soften and feed the skin, held together with a little beeswax for a protective finish.

50 ml jar
200 ml body jar · £20
£18

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Aloe vera juice Hydrating base; calms and cools
  • Jojoba oil Closest plant oil to skin’s own sebum; softens without clogging
  • Rosehip seed oil Rich in linoleic acid and provitamin A; supports tone and texture
  • Beeswax Light protective layer that slows water loss
  • Emulsifying wax (cetearyl alcohol) Holds the water and oils together as a cream
  • Niacinamide (vitamin B3) Evens skin tone and strengthens the barrier over time
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant; keeps the oils fresh
  • Frankincense and lavender oils Scent; both are gentle on facial skin
  • Preservative (Geogard ECT) Stops mould and bacteria growing in a water-based cream

Why it works

  • Deep hydration — aloe draws water in, the oils and wax keep it there.
  • Evens tone — niacinamide reduces the look of dark marks and dullness with steady use.
  • Barrier support — jojoba and rosehip replace what harsh weather and cleansing strip away.
  • No photosensitisers — safe in daylight; the lemon oil often found in “brightening” creams is deliberately absent.

How to use

  1. Apply to clean skin. After toner and serum, while the skin is still slightly damp.
  2. Use a little. A pea-sized amount covers face and neck. Warm it between the fingertips first so it spreads thinly.
  3. Press, don’t rub. Press into the skin in upward strokes; give it a minute to sink in before SPF or make-up.
  4. Body. Use more generously on elbows, knees and hands whenever they feel dry.

Good for

  • All skin types, including sensitive
  • Dry, tight or weathered skin
  • Uneven tone and dark marks (with SPF)
  • Evening use over the facial oil

Take care

  • Patch-test first if your skin reacts easily
  • Contains beeswax, so not vegan
  • Keep the lid on and use a clean dry finger or spatula
  • Stop if you notice redness or stinging

Pairs with: Serum (06) underneath morning and evening; facial oil (07) over the top at night; SPF in the morning.

Storage: Keep the jar out of direct sunlight and away from the shower. Use within six months of the date on the label. If the cream changes colour, separates, or smells sour, discard it.

07Night oil

Evening Facial Oil

Leave-on oil · anhydrous · evenings

A few drops pressed in at night. Rosehip and sea buckthorn bring the colour and the nutrients; squalane and jojoba keep it light enough to sink in rather than sit.

30 ml dropper
£18

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Rosehip seed oil Linoleic acid and provitamin A; supports texture and tone
  • Squalane (olive) Very light; mimics skin’s own squalene
  • Jojoba oil Balances the blend
  • Sea buckthorn fruit oil Carotenoids; used sparingly for its colour
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Frankincense and lavender oils Scent

Why it works

  • Overnight repair — skin recovers fastest at night; the oil gives it what it needs.
  • Softens fine lines — by keeping the skin plump and supple.
  • Seals in — used over the cream it locks moisture in until morning.
  • Non-greasy — squalane sinks in within minutes.

How to use

  1. Warm it. Three or four drops rubbed between the palms.
  2. Press. Press over the face and neck; don’t drag.
  3. Under or over. Under the cream as a treatment, over it as a seal. Either works.
  4. Not in the morning. It is designed for evenings; it can look shiny under SPF.

Good for

  • Dry, mature or flaky skin
  • Winter and heated rooms
  • Anyone whose cream alone isn’t enough

Take care

  • Sea buckthorn can tint very fair skin faintly orange if overused — three drops is enough
  • Patch-test if you react to essential oils
  • May be too rich for oily skin; skip on breakout-prone areas

Pairs with: Cream (01) — under it as a treatment or over it as a seal. Best after the enzyme mask (16).

Storage: Fridge or cool dark cupboard. Use within six months. Rosehip goes off faster than most oils; a crayon-like smell means it has turned.

08Weekly mask

Green Clay & Oat Mask

Face mask · dry powder · once or twice a week

A powder you mix into a mask with a spoonful of water, hydrosol or honey. Kept dry, it needs no preservative; mixed fresh each time, it is always at full strength.

100 g jar
£10

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • French green clay Absorbs excess oil and lifts impurities
  • Kaolin (white clay) Softer clay that balances the green
  • Colloidal oatmeal Soothing; stops the mask feeling tight
  • Chamomile flower powder Calming

Why it works

  • Deep clean — draws oil and debris from pores without scrubbing.
  • Calms as it works — the oats and chamomile mean it suits skin that other clay masks irritate.
  • Adjustable — mix with water for oily skin, hydrosol for normal, honey for dry.
  • Fresh every time — no preservatives, no waste.

How to use

  1. Mix. One tablespoon of powder with about a tablespoon of liquid to a smooth paste.
  2. Apply. To clean skin, avoiding the eyes. A thin, even layer.
  3. Ten minutes. Rinse when the edges start to lighten. Do not let it dry to cracking.
  4. Follow with. Toner (05), serum (06) and cream (01).

Good for

  • Oily and combination skin
  • Congested areas: nose, chin, forehead
  • Once-a-week reset for any skin type

Take care

  • Never dip a wet spoon in the jar — it will grow mould
  • Skin may look pink for a few minutes after; that fades
  • Don’t use on the same day as the enzyme mask (16)

Pairs with: Toner (05), serum (06) and cream (01) straight after rinsing. Alternate weeks with the enzyme mask (16).

Storage: Sealed jar, dry cupboard, dry spoon. Keeps a year. If it clumps or smells musty, water has got in; discard.

16Fresh mask

Papaya & Honey Enzyme Mask

Face mask · fresh · once a week

Gentle exfoliation without scrubbing. The enzyme in ripe papaya loosens dead surface cells; yogurt gives a light polish; honey keeps the skin comfortable while they work. Made fresh; never stored.

Recipe card
Free with the serum

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Ripe papaya Papain, a natural exfoliating enzyme
  • Plain yogurt Lactic acid; cooling
  • Raw honey Humectant; soothing
  • Colloidal oatmeal Thickens; calming

Why it works

  • Brighter skin — dull surface cells lift, so the skin reflects more light.
  • No scrubbing — nothing abrasive touches the skin.
  • Helps the serum — skin takes actives especially well after enzymes.
  • Kind to sensitive skin — far gentler than acids or grains.

How to use

  1. Fresh. Mix the mask as given and use it within the hour.
  2. Thin layer. On clean, dry skin, avoiding eyes and lips.
  3. 8–10 minutes. A light tingle is normal. Rinse sooner if it stings.
  4. Remove gently. Warm water and a damp muslin cloth. Follow with toner, serum and cream.

Good for

  • Dull, rough or flaky skin
  • Sensitive skin that can’t tolerate acids
  • The evening before an event

Take care

  • Patch-test first
  • Skip if you have a latex allergy — papaya enzymes cross-react
  • Once a week at most; not the same day as the clay mask (08)
  • Wear SPF the next day
  • Contains dairy and honey

Pairs with: Toner (05), serum (06), cream (01) and facial oil (07) straight after — skin drinks them in.

Storage: None. Discard leftovers; fruit and yogurt spoil within hours.

Wash, polish, soften, soothe

03Body soap

Turmeric & Honey Body Bar

Body soap · melt-and-pour · shower or bath

A golden, gently exfoliating bar for the body. Turmeric colours it and adds a little antioxidant activity; honey softens the lather; ground oats give a light polish.

100 g bar
£5

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Shea butter soap base Saponified plant oils and glycerin
  • Turmeric powder Colour and mild antioxidant
  • Jojoba oil Carries the turmeric evenly
  • Raw honey Humectant; softens the lather
  • Ground oats Very gentle exfoliation
  • Frankincense and sweet orange oils Scent

Why it works

  • Cleans without tightness — glycerin-rich base leaves skin comfortable.
  • Light exfoliation — the oats lift dry, rough patches on arms and legs.
  • Warm scent — frankincense and orange, no synthetic fragrance.
  • Honest about turmeric — it colours the bar; it does not lighten skin. See “take care”.

How to use

  1. Lather in the hands. Or on a cloth; the oats work best worked over the skin rather than rubbed straight from the bar.
  2. Wash and rinse. Use as any body soap. Rinse well.
  3. Follow with. Body butter (09) or salve (10) on damp skin.

Good for

  • Normal to oily body skin
  • Rough elbows, knees and heels
  • Anyone who wants a plain, honest bar

Take care

  • Not for the face: soap is alkaline and will strip it
  • Can tint pale flannels and towels yellow
  • Patch-test if you react to turmeric or honey
  • Contains honey, so not vegan

Pairs with: Body scrub (12) once a week; body butter (09) or salve (10) on damp skin afterwards.

Storage: Stand the bar on a draining dish between uses; melt-and-pour bars dissolve if they sit in water. Keep spare bars wrapped and dry.

12Weekly scrub

Brown Sugar & Jojoba Scrub

Body scrub · oil-based · once or twice a week

Soft sugar grains in a nourishing oil that turns milky under water. It exfoliates and moisturises in one step and doesn’t leave the bath slippery.

250 g jar
£10

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Soft brown sugar Gentle exfoliant that dissolves as it works
  • Jojoba oil Nourishing carrier
  • Sweet almond oil Softening
  • Shea butter Body; keeps the sugar suspended
  • Polysorbate 80 or Olivem 300 Lets the oil rinse away
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Preservative Guards against water getting into the jar
  • Sweet orange and lavender oils Scent

Why it works

  • Smooths — lifts dry, flaky skin on legs, arms and the backs of the hands.
  • Moisturises as it goes — the oils stay behind after the sugar rinses off.
  • Gentle grains — sugar is rounder and kinder than salt.
  • Prepares — skin absorbs body butter (09) better after a scrub.

How to use

  1. Damp skin. In the shower or bath, on wet skin.
  2. A small handful. Massage in circles, lightly — the sugar does the work.
  3. Rinse. Well, with warm water. The oil turns milky and washes away.
  4. Follow with. Body butter (09) while the skin is still damp.

Good for

  • Rough legs, arms and elbows
  • Before self-tan or hair removal
  • Dull winter skin

Take care

  • Not for the face
  • Use a dry scoop; water in the jar shortens its life
  • Contains sweet almond oil — avoid with a tree-nut allergy
  • The shower floor may be slippery for a moment; rinse it down

Pairs with: Body butter (09) immediately after, on damp skin. Bath soak (14) for a full spa evening.

Storage: Lid tightly on, on a shelf rather than in the shower. Use within six months. Discard if water pools on top or the smell changes.

09Body moisturiser

Whipped Shea Body Butter

Body moisturiser · anhydrous · whipped

Rich and cloud-light. Shea does the moisturising, cocoa butter gives body, and a little arrowroot stops it feeling greasy. No water, so no preservative.

150 ml jar
£12

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Shea butter Deep moisturiser; rich in vitamins A and E
  • Cocoa butter Firmness and a faint chocolate note
  • Coconut oil Slip and lightness
  • Sweet almond oil Keeps the whip soft
  • Arrowroot powder Cuts the greasy after-feel
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Lavender and sweet orange oils Scent

Why it works

  • Long-lasting softness — a single application keeps skin comfortable all day.
  • Protects — shea forms a light breathable layer against wind and cold.
  • Melts on contact — no dragging on dry skin.
  • Goes a long way — a little covers a lot.

How to use

  1. Damp skin. Best straight after a shower or bath, while the skin is still damp.
  2. A small scoop. Warm between the palms until it melts.
  3. Smooth on. Work over arms, legs and body. Give it a minute before dressing.
  4. Extra dry spots. Heels, elbows and knees can take a second layer at bedtime.

Good for

  • Dry, rough or flaky body skin
  • Winter skin
  • After sun or swimming

Take care

  • Contains sweet almond oil — avoid with a tree-nut allergy
  • Not for the face: too rich for most
  • Melts above 25°C; it still works, just runnier

Pairs with: Body bar (03) or scrub (12) before; salve (10) on heels and elbows for extra help.

Storage: Cool cupboard, lid on, dry fingers. Keeps a year. If it melts in a heatwave, pop it in the fridge for an hour and it firms up again.

10Multi-purpose salve

Calendula Healing Salve

Multi-purpose salve · anhydrous · as needed

The most useful tin in the house: olive oil steeped in calendula flowers, set with beeswax and shea. For hands, cuticles, dry patches and minor scrapes once they have closed.

50 ml tin
£7

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Calendula-infused olive oil Calendula is traditionally used to soothe and support skin repair
  • Beeswax Sets the salve; protective
  • Shea butter Softness
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Lavender oil Calming; scent
  • Tea tree oil Mildly antimicrobial (optional)

Why it works

  • Soothes — calendula is gentle enough for reactive skin.
  • Protects — the beeswax layer shields chapped, cracked skin while it recovers.
  • Everywhere — hands, lips, cuticles, heels, elbows, dry shins.
  • Portable — a tin lives happily in a bag or pocket.

How to use

  1. Warm a little. Rub a fingertip’s worth between the fingers until it softens.
  2. Apply thinly. Press onto the area. More is not better; a thin layer works.
  3. Repeat. As often as needed; after hand-washing is the classic moment.
  4. Overnight. A thicker layer on hands or feet under cotton gloves or socks.

Good for

  • Dry, chapped or wind-burned skin
  • Cuticles and cracked heels
  • Minor scrapes and grazes once closed
  • Gardeners, cooks, nurses

Take care

  • Not for open, weeping or infected wounds
  • Calendula is in the daisy family — patch-test if you react to ragweed or chamomile
  • Contains beeswax, so not vegan

Pairs with: Lip balm (11) shares its base; body butter (09) for larger areas.

Storage: Cool cupboard. Keeps a year. Softens in warm weather; that is normal.

11Lips

Cocoa & Beeswax Lip Balm

Lip balm · anhydrous · tube

The salve base, firmed for lips and softened with cocoa butter so it glides rather than drags. A faint chocolate note, an optional peppermint tingle.

5 ml tube
£3.50

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Beeswax Structure and protection
  • Cocoa butter Glide; faint chocolate scent
  • Shea butter Softness
  • Coconut oil Melts on contact
  • Sweet almond oil Keeps it from being waxy
  • Castor oil A little shine
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Peppermint oil Optional; a light tingle

Why it works

  • Stays put — beeswax means it lasts through a coffee, not just a minute.
  • No petroleum — plant waxes and butters only.
  • Soft shine — castor oil gives a light gloss without stickiness.
  • Repairs overnight — a thick layer at bedtime softens chapped lips by morning.

How to use

  1. Apply. Smooth over the lips as needed.
  2. Before lipstick. A thin layer, then blot, then colour.
  3. Bedtime. A generous layer as a lip mask.

Good for

  • Dry, chapped or wind-burned lips
  • Under lipstick
  • Cold weather, flights, heated rooms

Take care

  • Contains sweet almond oil — avoid with a tree-nut allergy
  • Contains beeswax, so not vegan
  • If lips are cracked or sore, choose the version without peppermint

Pairs with: Salve (10) for the skin around the lips; enzyme mask (16) never on the lips.

Storage: Keeps a year. Coconut oil softens above 25°C, so keep tubes out of hot cars and back pockets in summer.

13Aluminium-free

Coconut & Arrowroot Deodorant Balm

Deodorant · anhydrous · daily

A soft balm that absorbs moisture, discourages the bacteria that cause odour, and smells clean. Two versions: bicarbonate for most people, magnesium for sensitive underarms.

60 g push-up tube
£8

Contact us

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Coconut oil Base; mildly antimicrobial
  • Shea butter Softness
  • Beeswax Keeps it firm in warm weather
  • Arrowroot powder Absorbs moisture
  • Bicarbonate of soda — or magnesium hydroxide Neutralises odour
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Tea tree, lavender and bergamot FCF oils Antimicrobial and fresh; the bergamot is furanocoumarin-free, so no sun sensitivity

Why it works

  • Aluminium-free — it is a deodorant, not an antiperspirant: you will still sweat, but it won’t smell.
  • All day — one application usually lasts a working day.
  • Gentle option — the magnesium version suits skin that bicarb irritates.
  • No residue — arrowroot leaves skin dry, not chalky.

How to use

  1. Clean, dry skin. After a shower is ideal.
  2. Pea-sized. Warm between the fingertips and smooth onto each underarm.
  3. Wait a minute. Before dressing, so it sets and doesn’t mark clothes.
  4. Reapply. After heavy exercise if needed.

Good for

  • Anyone moving away from aluminium antiperspirants
  • Normal, everyday activity
  • Sensitive skin — choose the magnesium version

Take care

  • Bicarb can irritate after a week or two: redness, itching or dark patches. Stop and switch to the magnesium version
  • Don’t apply straight after shaving
  • Expect a two-week adjustment when switching from antiperspirant

Pairs with: Body bar (03) to wash first; body butter (09) everywhere but the underarms.

Storage: Cool cupboard, out of direct sun. Softens above 25°C. Keeps six months.

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate) Traditionally used for aching muscles
  • Coarse sea salt Minerals
  • Bicarbonate of soda Softens the water
  • Colloidal oatmeal Soothing; silky water
  • Dried lavender buds Scent and a little colour
  • Jojoba oil Carries the essential oils into the water
  • Lavender and cedarwood oils Relaxing scent

Why it works

  • Eases aches — a warm magnesium bath after exercise or a long day.
  • Softens skin — oats leave the water silky and the skin calm.
  • Winds down — lavender and cedarwood before bed.
  • Doesn’t block drains — use the bag.

How to use

  1. Fill the bag. About 100 g — a large handful — into the muslin bag.
  2. Under the tap. Hang or drop it in as the bath runs.
  3. Soak. Twenty minutes. Squeeze the bag now and then to release the oats.
  4. Rinse. A quick rinse afterwards if the oats leave a film, then body butter (09).

Good for

  • Sore muscles
  • Dry, itchy winter skin
  • Sleep routine

Take care

  • Not for anyone with a magnesium restriction — check with your doctor
  • Keep the water warm, not hot: hot baths dry the skin
  • Rinse and dry the bag between uses

Pairs with: Body butter (09) after the bath; hair and beard oil (15) on damp ends.

Storage: Sealed jar, dry cupboard. Salts draw moisture from the air, so keep the lid on. Keeps a year.

Ingredients & how to use

What’s in it

  • Argan oil Shine and softness
  • Jojoba oil Closest to the scalp’s own oil
  • Grapeseed oil Very light; no heaviness
  • Castor oil A little grip and gloss
  • Vitamin E Antioxidant
  • Cedarwood, rosemary and sweet orange oils Scent; rosemary is traditionally used for the scalp

Why it works

  • Tames — softens coarse beard hair and reduces itch underneath.
  • Shine without grease — argan absorbs; it doesn’t sit.
  • Scalp care — a pre-wash massage helps dryness and flaking.
  • Ends — seals split ends and smooths frizz.

How to use

  1. Beard. Three to five drops between the palms, worked from the skin outward, then comb.
  2. Hair ends. One or two drops on damp ends; avoid the roots.
  3. Scalp. A dropperful massaged in thirty minutes before washing, once a week.
  4. Less is more. Start with fewer drops and add.

Good for

  • Beards of any length
  • Dry, frizzy or coloured hair
  • Dry, flaky scalps

Take care

  • Patch-test on the inner arm if you react to essential oils
  • Keep out of the eyes
  • Wash pillowcases more often if you use it at night

Pairs with: Salve (10) for a dry beard-line; bath soak (14) evenings for a pre-wash scalp massage.

Storage: Cool, dark cupboard. Keeps a year.

What we will and won’t claim

These are cosmetics, not medicines. They hydrate, soften, clean and, with patience and sunscreen, even skin tone. They don’t treat conditions, and nothing here lightens skin or erases dark circles — we’d rather tell you that on the page than have you find out in the mirror.

If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, buying for a child, or have a skin condition, read the product’s “take care” notes and ask your pharmacist or midwife about anything with essential oils or active ingredients.
